Kaelan

Kaelan is an experimental project in which, through research and the self-production of new compostable materials, a pair of sandals is developed that rethinks the concept of ephemeral footwear. The project takes as a reference the classic non-recyclable plastic sandals, known as “cangrejeras,” to transform them into a sustainable object that, at the end of its life cycle, can return to the earth without leaving a trace. Kaelan explores the relationship between design, innovation, and environmental responsibility, proposing a critical alternative to single-use consumption and to the materials that saturate ecosystems.
