The project tackles the conception and the design of a bean sprout germinator for domestic use that aids and permits the germination of various seeds at the same time in places where the special and lighting conditions do not allow all types of growing. This is the key to my project, as bean sprouts are an ally of traditional or nursery growing, but unlike these, they do not need great conditions for their growth.
Growing our own food helps us build our own food sovereignty. Food auto-consumption groups and community allotments are some of the agents that have had an impact on the education and dissemination of local consumption as a model aimed at sustainability, compared with the dominant model of agro-alimentary farming, distribution and consumption. This is why I see here an open path of development on which we can have a considerable impact.
The project aims to familiarise users with everyday food. At the same time it seeks to have direct contact with them so they start out on a path towards a possible new habit of consumption.
