“Dithyrambic” is designed to be a different theatre book collection. The books are aimed at children aged 12 and over and each story is accompanied by dozens of illustrations that they can enjoy while reading.
After analysing the books about theatre in a number of bookshops, I realised that a book needed to be created which captures the attention of children in this age range, makes them enjoy reading and gets them interested in the theatre. To do this, I decided to design a collection of innovative books, in which the graphic design, editorial layout and illustrations visually enrich reading.
The project has enabled me to explore the field of illustration and from there develop three distinct styles, thereby giving each book its own identity. Changes to editorial design, such as handwritten notes or the body of the text set out in two columns on the page make reading dynamic and give the reader a sense of proximity.
