The project consists of creating an alternative cinema. The space chosen is what was until 2001 the home of the Casablanca Kaplan cinema in the Jardinets de Gràcia. The aim of the project is to recover the cultural and social character of cinemas, which create a "cinema experience" in viewers that is much more than just enjoying the film. The proposal offers a space in which the film is not simply an isolated phenomenon within a dark room, but helps viewers understand its complexity by incorporating elements that contextualise it, that constitute its very own universe.
The space is divided into two large areas, a screening room and an open space containing the bar and activity area, documentation exhibition, exhibition space, video screening space and a consultation area situated at double height. A covering has been proposed to join the different areas together and which consists of a grid around the entire space containing the elements of the context: books, posters, mock-ups, etc., so that the audience is wrapped up in this universe and it extends the cultural experience of going to the cinema.
