The project was born from my background. I am from Mallorca and over the years I have seen how the island has been modified to the point where living there is no longer the pleasure it used to be.
Mallorca, a well-known island in the Mediterranean, is undergoing a significant transformation in recent years due to tourism and overcrowding. Given this situation, the project I propose is the study of the km 0 construction materials of the Balearic Islands, specifically in Mallorca, in order to then apply them to the renovation of a house located in the town of Marratxí. With the intention of not having to depend on materials from outside, thus achieving aesthetic authenticity and a significant reduction in CO₂.
The objective is to be able to delve into this research by recovering the traditional techniques and structures of Mallorcan houses, the possessions, and mixing them with the new construction materials arising from the natural resources of the island.
