Aurum is an artisan beer hall-restaurant located in a former factory in the Poblenou (22@) district. Its name means gold in Latin, a hue reminiscent of the golden colour of beer, which gives it a touch of elegance and chic. The interior design concept is based on achieving harmony between the building’s new purpose and an appreciation of its past.
The layout includes an artificial topography from the floor up and is configured as subtle subspaces that cover the restaurant’s essential needs. The organic bodies made from glass fibre strips break the symmetry and monotony of the industrial setting and create a hierarchy inside the large single space, so arranging the uses of the building. This enables an innovative design based on techniques and modern materials to find its place within the body of an old construction.
Aurum has its own beer factory. Since they are the main attraction here, the breweries are on a pedestal and can be seen from anywhere in the restaurant.
