Aorate

An interest in lighting design and the search for more extensive knowledge in this field led to the creation of Aorate, a light for children in the shape of an asteroid that seeks to break the passive relationship there currently is between most lamps and their users.

One of the main aims of this project is to design a light in detail which achieves a product that is ready to go and can be submitted to a manufacturer for them to sell.

Correct lighting in a space for children is very important, as light does not only affect them emotionally, but also physically. In designing the light, our aim is to ensure suitable lighting for young children with three different light options to accompany children in their different activities, as well as opening up complete freedom of spaces.

Since it is a product for children, safety is a priority throughout its design. This is why both the materials (polypropylene and silicone) and their induction charging method were chosen because they ensure that no child will become ill while using the light.
