PhD in Philosophy from the University of Barcelona, Master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Chile and BA in History from the same university.
Teaching / Research
He has been a professor of contemporary thought for more than 18 years at different universities in Chile and Spain. He currently teaches the course Contemporary Thought in the Master’s Degree in Research in Art and Design (MURAD) at Eina, and Social Pedagogy in the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Education at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. His research seeks to understand the dynamics of contemporary societies, tensioning theoretical reflection towards the development of new cultural, social, aesthetic and educational practices.
He has published several articles in academic journals on the philosophy of Nietzsche, the society of control, contemporary technological nihilism and the thought of Bernard Stiegler. His interests focus especially on philosophy of education, phenomenology and critical theory, contemporary nihilism and its relationship with the technological system, cybernetics and the automatic and performance-oriented society, as well as the question of attention and sensitive thinking. He is a member of the research group Crítica de la razón práctica (UB), of the Red Intempestiva for Nietzsche studies, and regularly participates in the Taula per a la Reflexió en Educació Social, organized by the Research Group in Social Education – GRES.
Professional activity
For more than 15 years he was Director of Academic Development and Quality at the Instituto de Arte y de Comunicación, ARCOS (Chile), where he was responsible for educational innovation projects funded by the Chilean Ministry of Education.
