Tribute to Josep M. Pujol

Josep M. Pujol, great master in the research and teaching of typography and former professor at EINA, will receive a tribute on Wednesday 19 October at 7 pm in the Sala de Graus of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona.

Pere Farrando, former collaborator of the school, will present the booklet Josep M. Pujol: Notes i dos textos sobre tipografia. Josep Maria Pujol (1947-2012) was a doctor in Catalan Philology, professor at the URV and collaborator at other universities in publishing and graphic design. His great teaching contribution was the study of the theory and history of typographic writing, typography and orthotypography.

To remember him, a short recital of poetry and medieval music will be performed by Josep Mateu, musician; Eduard Carmona, reciter; Marc Guerris, countertenor singer, with a selection of texts by Marina Navàs.

The tribute to Josep M. Pujol is organised by the Associació de Professionals i Estudiosos en Llengua i Literatura Catalana (APELLC), of which Pujol was president and Farrando is a member. On this occasion, paper copies of the publication, which can be downloaded in PDF on the APELL website, will be awarded.
