On Tuesday 27 September at 7 pm at La Capell will take place the presentation of the book 'Notes sobre disseny, art i arquitectura (escrites entre els anys 2015 i 2018)' which brings together a set of reflections on these areas by Pep Alemany, founding member of EINA.
The event will be led by Oriol Pibernat, professor of the Bachelor of Design and the Master's Degree in Research in Art and Design at EINA, who will discuss anecdotes and other details of the work with the author.
Pep Alemany, architect, has been a master and a relevant figure in Barcelona's cultural scene in recent decades. A member of the founding team of EINA, he has always been linked in one way or another to the teaching of architecture and interior design, whether at ETSAB (where he taught for more than 30 years), at EINA, or at other schools to which he has been invited, putting his experience at the service of students and teachers. In the same vein, he was president of Fostering Arts and Design (1991-1995), an association of professionals dedicated to the protection and promotion of design, and holder of the FAD awards for architecture and interior design. In all these activities, he has always maintained a discreet but generous and central position.
This vocation of service is evident not only in his activity as a teacher and as an architect, but also in the brief but accurate reflections that he presents in this book. Pep gives us here a series of small personal and professional considerations, in an apparently disorganised and unconnected way. But this is precisely the way he understands his profession: little by little, in the moment, with wisdom and humility.
We believe that these reflections, and this publication that brings them together, are the icing on the cake to a full, serene and rich career. And a well-deserved tribute from his colleagues and the school he helped to found and prosper.
