Presentació del llibre d’Anna Alcubierre

Presentation of Anna Alcubierre’s Book

Anna Alcubierre, professor of the Bachelor of Design and director of the Master's in Exhibitions. Curating and Design, will present her new book Exhibitions with Ecological Criteria in Cultural Centres on July 1st at 7:30 pm at the Museum of the History of Catalonia her new book Exhibitions with Ecological Criteria in Cultural Centers, published in the Museology Manuals collection of the Association of Professionals of Museology of Catalonia.

The work is a practical guide to applying sustainability criteria in the design and production of temporary exhibitions, with specific proposals that respond to current environmental challenges in the cultural field. The event will feature the participation of the Minister of Culture, Ms. Sònia Hernández Almodóvar.

As Anna Alcubierre comments on this area:
“In the rich universe of temporary exhibitions, we live in a world of making and unmaking. Most museums and cultural centers in the world, and especially art museums, dedicate one or more rooms to programming a series of exhibitions each season, each with a start and end date. Building to deconstruct, this is what ephemeral architecture is based on. It is for this reason of “expiry” that it is necessary to think about the impacts that the construction of the spaces that host traveling works can generate, including environmental sustainability. We must avoid designing temporary exhibitions that create permanent waste. We must therefore think about eco-design criteria.”
