Pol Buch, Laus de Plata Award

Pol Buch, a student of the Bachelor of Design, has won a Laus de Plata Student Prize, category Free Work, with 'Rondalla', a project developed in the 2n year subject of Typographic creation, led by Andreu Balius, consisting of the design of a complete alphabet, with characters in high and low case, numbers, punctuation marks and basic symbols.

‘Rondalla' was born out of the desire to reinterpret a typography found in some early 20th century hand programmes from the now defunct Olesa de Montserrat's main theatre, preserved in the town's Historical Archive.

It is an exercise in historical recovery and a tribute to the extensive theatrical tradition of the town.
