Pati Núñez, former student and teacher at EINA, has been awarded the Laus Award of Honour 2022 by the Association of Art Directors and Graphic Designers (ADG-FAD), for her prolific and impeccable career, which stands out for her contribution to the recognition of design and the identification of Barcelona as a city epicentre of innovation, arts and design through a close and sensory style.
On receiving the news, Pati Núñez shared with EINA her joy at this award. "This award has made me very excited, it has been a good surprise because I was not expecting more awards. Also for my team and my clients. All this is an important recognition, which boosts our spirits in these uncertain times", said the designer.
ADG-FAD has also highlighted Pati Núñez's ability to convey affinity and commitment to brands and to maintain the trust of clients from a small studio, being a benchmark for the next generations of designers, a master of the profession.
Pati Núñez is a graphic designer specialising in branding and packaging and the first woman to win the National Design Award. She studied graphic design at EINA, where she joined the teaching staff after completing her training as a teacher for 15 years. She combined her work as a teacher with that of a designer, collaborating with different studios and agencies until 1985, when she founded her own design studio, Pati Núñez Associats.
Her studio specialises in corporate image, product image and graphic communication campaigns, and has worked for brands such as Cacao Sampaka, System Action, Loewe, Armand Basi, Mango, Opel, Caixa de Catalunya, Camper, Colegio de Arquitectos, Danone, Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, Aldeasa, Anagrama Editorial, Antonio Miró, Bulevard Rosa, Café de L'Acadèmia, Generalitat de Catalunya, RCP Saatchi and Saatchi, Vinçon, Inditex, RNB Cosméticos, Idesa Parfums, Fira de Barcelona, Fundació Miró, Agua Fuensanta, Café Saula, Vila Viniteca, among others.
Her work stands out for its formal elegance and the use of pure lines, based on simple yet emotive and powerful ideas, capable of lasting over time. It is worth noting her ability to get involved with each project, adapting to the client's needs.
