How do I position myself -as a cultural agent- in relation to the new contexts (professional and relational) where I operate?

The goal of this workshop is to support cultural agents in successfully understanding -and adapting to- their local cultural ecosystem, by giving them more tools and resources for building capacities and developing new links. This will be achieved by two intersecting processes: on one side, mapping their cultural network context (resources, places, people, communities, institutions, projects, etc.) and, on the other hand, positioning themselves (from the local to the global) at different levels of the cultural system scale. Both processes will converge in speculative narratives that will have a vision for a desired scenario for social and transformative change.

The first session (11/05) will engage the participants in two activities: first, they will be given tools and resources to map the (cultural) ecosystems where they operate, being able to better understand the complexities and potentialities of those contexts; second, they will engage in a process of situating themselves as cultural agents, supporting them to best position themselves and harness the possibilities of their ecosystems. Participants will then be invited to collaborate in creating speculative scenarios that ‘give form’ to different proposed interventions to trigger systemic transitions; these narratives will be made in the preferred media of the participants (comic, video, text, etc.). The second session (18/05) will see all participants sharing their scenarios and openly discussing how these can support a wider process of social and transformative change.
