The La Serreta Institute in Rubí has completed four years of collaboration with Eina, the Barcelona University Center for Design and Art, within the framework of the Magnet program, which promotes alliances between educational centers and organizations of excellence to foster innovative and quality projects.
This initiative, promoted by the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Jaume Bofill Foundation, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Barcelona Education Consortium and the UAB Institute of Education Sciences, has been led from Eina by the team of professors from the Design Degree: Laia Clos, Enric Mas and Anna Majó, currently teaching at the UB.
Since the 2021-2022 academic year, this alliance has allowed La Serreta to integrate art and design as the backbone of its educational project, consolidating its artistic baccalaureate and offering students tools to develop creativity, analytical skills and new forms of learning.
Eina's teaching staff highlights the deep collaboration and empowerment of La Serreta's teachers, who have integrated art and design as key tools to enrich their pedagogy and promote thinking, learning and research.
“This alliance has meant a change in perspective for us in many aspects,” says Montse Vendrell, director of INS La Serreta, emphasizing the ability to transform not only the school's physical spaces, but also mentalities and educational routines, placing students at the center of the learning process, promoting inclusive and competency-based education, and projecting the school.
