Malerin Hannah Höch, per Dietmar Bührer

Honourable Mention for Andrea Pérez Fernández

Andrea Pérez Fernández, professor in Bachelor of Design, has received an honourable mention in the Enrique Fuentes Quintana Award in the Humanities category for her doctoral thesis titled “Art and Politics in Hannah Höch: Dadaism, Socialism, and Women’s Emancipation during the Weimar Republic”.

The thesis analyses the role of German artist Hannah Höch from a critical and contextual perspective, exploring the links between Dadaism, feminism, and politics during one of the most turbulent periods of the 20th century. The research highlights the emancipatory potential of art and positions Höch as a pioneering figure in the struggle for women's rights in the cultural and political arenas.

This recognition underscores the academic rigour and intellectual depth of Andrea Pérez’s research, as well as the excellence of Eina’s teaching staff in the field of humanities and critical thinking.
