On Wednesday 8 July at 6.30 pm, the Convent dels Àngels at MACBA will host the In the Making round table, bringing together representatives from Eina, Elisava and IAAC to reflect on the current and future challenges of education in architecture and design.
The event forms part of the In the Making exhibition, which showcases projects by nine Catalan schools of architecture and design within the framework of the UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects. The discussion will explore the transformations shaping these disciplines at a time marked by ecological, technological, social and cultural challenges.
Open to all, the round table will be organised around three thematic sessions. The first will examine the relationship between place, tradition and globalisation, and how schools can maintain a distinctive identity within an international academic context. The second will focus on the role of schools as spaces for experimentation, research and testing in response to today's major challenges. The third will explore the growing interdisciplinarity between architecture, design and other fields of knowledge, as well as the changing profile of future professionals.
Through its participation, Eina reaffirms its commitment to the ongoing debate on the future of higher education in design and architecture, contributing its perspective on a critical, experimental and socially engaged approach to education.
