Octavi Rofes

Farewell to Octavi Rofes

On Tuesday 2 May, Octavi Rofes, a colleague at EINA, left us.

With a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Barcelona, he has been a lecturer since 1996 on the Higher Graduate Degree in Design, the Bachelor in Design and the Master's Degree Research in Art and Design. From 1999-2000 to 2014-2015, he was assistant director of the school, accompanying Oriol Pibernat as director.

Expert on representations in conflict in a globalised world, Octavi Rofes has always been linked to the world of research from the confluence of different fields, such as the Research Group in Anthropology and Artistic Practices (GRAPA) at the UB or the Research Group in Aesthetics and Theory of Design and Art (GRETDA) at EINA, where he was also Coordinator of the Research Group.

We are left with his mark over a twenty-seven-year career through which he worked to achieve the challenge of integrating EINA into the university, adapting it to the current university system.

The wake will take place on Friday 5th May from 6 pm to 9 pm in room 9 of the Sancho de Ávila Mortuary, and the farewell ceremony will be held on Saturday 6th May at 10.45 am in the same place.

From the EINA community we want to express our sorrow for his loss and we add our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
