On 30 June, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Eina, University Centre of Design and Art of Barcelona, will host the session SDGs Local Learning Studio: A Global Action Research Initiative at the Museu Antoni Tàpies.
The event, which is open to the public, forms part of Barcelona’s role as World Capital of Architecture and the UIA 2026 World Congress of Architects. It will bring together researchers, students and professionals to reflect on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), urban resilience and collaborative practices.
Participants will include Pernille Maria Bärnheim, Deputy Director of the Copenhagen Architecture Forum and member of the Local Learning Studio, and Tània Costa, Academic Director of Eina, together with the research team behind the Resilience Thinking Walkshop — Francesc Magrinyà, SITESIZE (Elvira Pujol and Joan Vila-Puig) and Rafael de Balanzó.
The event will also feature students from Eina’s University Master’s Degree in Research in Art and Design (MURAD) and the Pratt Institute Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment/SES, who will present research on New York’s BQE (Brooklyn–Queens Expressway).
The session aims to foster a space for dialogue and exchange on how urban planning, civic agendas and place-based pedagogies can contribute to building more resilient communities and cities.
