A dream of an interior restaurant space

The design of spaces in restaurants

Amadeu Ventayol, PhD student of the Research itinerary in design and art of EINA and professor of the Bachelor of Design, will present The design of spaces in restaurants, on Wednesday 30 November from 3.30 pm to 5 pm in the framework of the activities of EINA Recerca. The activity has a hybrid format, face-to-face at EINA Sentmenat, and online at this link.

A restaurant is a place where people go to enjoy themselves and forget about their problems. It is a place that is part of our culture and society, but: What is a restaurant? Can we say that El Internacional by Antoni Miralda is a restaurant? When we order food at home, do our homes become a restaurant? Or more importantly, will elBulli1846 be a restaurant?

Understanding what a restaurant is and classifying the different typologies that we can find today are some of the questions that will be discussed in this seminar.

Questions that have been affected, like other social spheres, by the pandemic of La Covid-19. The distancing and acceleration of digital life has consolidated a new trend in restaurants, where spaces stand out visually in our physical and digital lives, thanks to the algorithm.
