The Museu del Disseny de Barcelona hosted the closing ceremony of Eina’s 50th anniversary, becoming the stage for a tribute to five decades of education, creativity, and innovation in the world of design. The event was presided over by Anna Pujadas, Director of Eina, and Enric Steegmann, President of the Eina Foundation, and brought together professors, students, alumni, and personalities linked to Catalan design.
The central moment was the premiere of the documentary Eina, the Contemporary Spirit, directed by Poldo Pomés. The film combines interviews with professors, students, and professionals in the sector, with footage showing both the past trajectory and the current activity of the center. This audiovisual work provides a comprehensive view of Eina’s impact on the city of Barcelona and the Catalan design scene, highlighting how the center has evolved and renewed itself over fifty years.
After the screening, attendees enjoyed the Guino de Guinovart reception, conceived by Xavier Olivé, a gastronomic presentation that combined art and cuisine. Salvador Sauleda recreated the coques de recapte based on 1995 sketches by the artist Josep Guinovart, originally made for the Gust i Estil dinner organized by Eina during the 2nd Catalan Congress of Cuisine. The gastronomic proposal was complemented by tasting the EINA cocktail, created in 1981 by Boadas.
The event was an opportunity to gather all those who, in one way or another, have been connected to Eina or felt close to it, while also serving to lay the foundations for reflection on the future and reaffirm the relevance of a project that has demonstrated a constant capacity for renewal over five decades.
