This workshop opens a space for experimentation where the glass pieces of artisan artist Anna Alsina Bardagí will reveal their own voice, beyond the limits of human creativity. This proposal is part of the new advanced studies program in Contemporary Crafts and Design.
With Anna Alsina Bardagí, we will explore the interaction between light and gravity through her sculptures made of optical glass. Through immersive dynamics, we will discover how light unveils the optical illusions within each piece: shapes that converse with light and transform depending on the viewer’s angle. Each sculpture is conceived with multiple layers that are revealed only through changes in light or perspective. It is a perceptual game that the artist intentionally proposes:
“I want each piece to present itself differently every time, inviting the observer to discover new forms, as if the sculpture were in constant evolution.»
What will you find?
In addition to this performative dimension, the artist will share her techniques and processes. She will demonstrate how, through experimental methods and her knowledge of physics and chemistry, she manipulates the internal structures of glass and explores its spatial and dimensional limits.
She will also share her personal journey: how she began working with glass; why she chose to use exclusively eco-optical glass, free from lead and arsenic, to ensure maximum material purity; and how she has established herself within the world of contemporary craft and art collecting.

This workshop is an introduction to the Diploma in Advanced Studies in Contemporary Crafts and Design, an innovative training platform that integrates contemporary craft and design, focused on experimental techniques, material awareness and creative exploration, which will take place from February 3, 2026 to July 2, 2026.
Workshop organised by Eina, in collaboration with the Associació Catalana de les Arts del Vidre (ACAV), with the support of the Government of Catalonia.
