Viladrau is one of the best-known towns in the Montseny natural park, lying in a privileged setting, making it a necessary crossing point on the many routes that criss-cross the area. At present, Viladrau Town Hall is located in Plaza Mayor. There are proposals for its partial transfer to the El Torrent farmhouse, a building dating from 1750, where a large part of the space is currently unused.
The reason for the transfer is to adapt this public institution and make it more receptive and create a direct connection with the townspeople and visitors, be it by providing information or access to itineraries, devoting spaces to leisure-time pursuits, etc. To achieve this, the space will be adapted using more up-to-date language, creating brighter spaces, more welcoming offices and a bar offering a meeting and resting point. These measures are designed to attract the attention of possible users.
The layout, materials and shapes are part of a central idea: the nature found in this setting. Each element and each projection forms part of a small representation of nature, which grows in an irregular and random pattern, reflected in rigid and linear shapes and materials. It is a constant contact between the interior and the exterior. The dominant materials used in the project are iroko wood, Corten steel and concrete.
