Teatre Arnau

The project arises as a response to the reopening of the Teatre Arnau, on Barcelona’s Paral.lel Avenue. The theatre has lain empty for a few years, though recently it has been in the news in connection to the disappearance of emblematic sites like it in Barcelona.

For the redesign of the theatre’s identity, all aspects of its past have been taken into account, along with its current situation and the preferences of the city’s theatre-going public.

On the basis of this analysis the decision was made to turn it into a theatre dedicated to comedy. The design has sought to communicate humour by means of subtle interventions using illustration. In reference to the history of the performing arts, Art Deco resources are employed.
