Location of the property: Spaces located in the city of Sabadell, specifically in Carrer de Gràcia no. 7, right in the nerve centre and close to the ESDI university design school.
Aims of the project:
- Autonomy, independence and training of residents.
- The creation of a public and instructional space that permits social and employment interaction between the residents.
- Design a comfortable and practical environment.
This project comprises endless opportunities for students who are interested in becoming independent but in an unconventional way. This way, Studio 7 seeks to get away from the typical image of the student flat to offer instead a space where it is possible to combine living and studying.
The proposal includes a studio at street level (professional area) where design students have the opportunity of working as though they were in a professional design studio.
Assessment of the result: A small dwelling has been created, a place that is removed from the magnified residences and flat shares where residents lack any spaces in which to work and where they have difficulties when entering employment.
