The new conception of bank branch has been based on creating a space that incorporates the needs of customers and workers, taking into account the new socio-economic reality of the twenty-first century.
The project has been developed on the basis of the study of the agents that take part in the evolution of the design of bank branches: technological advances (online banking), society (the new generations) and workers (the new concept of worker).
The main aim has centred on integrating the common spaces for the workers on the basis of a gradual division of the space into three areas in terms of privacy. Wood has been used as the predominant material to define and unite the different spaces homogeneously, and horizontal (ceilings and floors) and vertical walls (dividing elements) have been created that form a continuous element that runs through the whole branch.
The concept that defines the project is functionality, developed through the contrasts of textures and spatial sensations that have given the space its own personality and that are far from what we all recognise as a bank branch. It is, then, the new concept of bank branch.
