Elena Aromir Puig - Un nou concepte de bungalou

A new bungalow's concept.

The bungalow is form of tourist lodging that incorporates the essence of pleasure in nature characteristic in camping.

Given that the idea of the bungalow is that of a fixed cabin containing many compact functions, the decision was made to exploit these functions so as to open up the bungalow to the outside, incorporating the natural surroundings it is found in.

A central courtyard acts as a lung within the building, providing a space that is both exterior and private at once. The spaces are organized along a central axis that distributes the space from lesser to greater privacy, making it possible to supply shade and cross ventilation to cool down the ambience.

So as to achieve maximum versatility and adapt the structures to the terrain, a modular system is created whereby the bungalow can take on various forms and layouts, with an emphasis on technical solutions easing transportation, assembly and the variable choice of materials.

The result is a design that is mutable, adaptable to the variable demands of climate or terrain, and able to distance itself from the monotonous and repetitive appearance of pre-fabricated constructions.
