The project is based on the refurbishment of premises in the Eixample district to plan a maquette school-workshop where classes will be given to practical placement students and professional maquettes will be produced.
The aims are to bring about my future project of having a workshop in which to carry out my vocation and provide learning to people wishing to devote themselves professionally to it, as in my case. The main design aims are to maintain the consistency with the structure of the premises and refurbish the space without annulling it, while the great challenge will be to achieve both a functional and a comfortable space by working with an industrial aesthetic.
The visible structure of pillars and beams has been determined to design the spaces. The two central beams, situated longitudinally, highlight the fugal view of the premises and have been the template for the distribution. From here we get the corridor element created by function containment cupboards, an element that is repeated throughout the space and that separates the entrance from the workshop, which is accessed through streets that create an internal circulation and that open out onto two central cores, the academic and professional workshop and the machinery area.
