Elisabeth Fernández - Intervenció en un Paisatge en Ruïnes per a la Interacció de l'Ésser Humà a l'Entorn

Intervention in a Ruined Landscape for Human Interaction with the Setting

The aim of the project is to recover the lost culture of the Mussara, abandoned in the 1970s, as a tribute to its memory. The project was conceived with a view to protecting and highlighting the emotions and beauty created by the decaying environment, taking great care not to destroy the atmosphere of this unique place. The solution needs to be based on almost unseen intervention, or, what is in fact, a conception with a minimalist tendency in terms of new work and organic elegance with regard to the very essence of the ecosystem in which the village lies.

The success of this premise was based on the choice of vegetation as one of the main elements, as well as on the materials which have resolved the structural difficulties presented by the project. This consists of a section of paths that embrace the different spaces: from the rest areas, picnic area, new pond and the belvederes to the furniture created to meet the needs of the programme. The aim of the intervention is not to modify but to preserve and complete the existing landscape.
