High Performance Centre

The project presented focuses on the world of sport and presents the remodelling of an outdoor area, currently in disuse, where sports facilities are planned as a high-performance centre specialising in beach volleyball.

The main aim of the project is to create an optimum training environment for the sport. At present, there is no sports centre in Spain that has a space of this nature, and this fact reinforces the interest of the project that is proposed.

The aim of the programme is to create outdoor facilities that coexist with the present pavilion without competing with it or marring it and where the elements of interest pertaining to it are enhanced. The key concept is the creation of an artificial topography where the user can enter and gradually discover all that is hidden in the facilities through a series of gradients.

As differentiating traits, it is important to highlight that it is an open, accessible and organic space that contrasts with the existing pavilion (closed interior space of rational forms). The intervention respects the environment as there is a series of elements that improve the efficiency and sustainability of the design, such as photovoltaic pergolas and a rainwater recycling system.
