This project proposes a solution for people with cardiac problems. The objective is to humanize and dignify the everyday life of people suffering from these kinds of ailments, while seeking to develop a product that might provide information on their physical condition and then communicate it.
The system designed includes a wristband with a pulse sensor and a mobile application connected by Bluetooth. The wristband gathers information on the patient’s cardiac activity and shows it to the user by means of a LED screen. Using Bluetooth, the information is sent to the mobile apparatus, where in the app it is possible to view the specific information in real time. Besides this, all the information is stored daily so as to enable permanent follow-up and thus be able to assist in the diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias, thus aiding the task of medical professionals. Another of its functions is to send a warning signal to the support person designated in the application, featuring the location of the affected person who might find him or herself in a risk situation. This signal would include all information necessary to respond in aid to the affected patient in the shortest time frame possible.
This product is designed especially for children and young people who might spend long periods of the day away from home, although it might be applied to anyone of any age who might benefit from it.
