Bonavista bookshop-café and Crisol Collective

Refurbishment of the Núria Parish School in Sant Just Desvern to build a new cultural and leisure focus: on the one hand, the Crisol Collective (based on co-working), and on the other, the Bonavista bookshop-café, where the project will be centred.

The school complex dates from different periods. The first building, which gives onto the street and which is where the collective would be located, was built in 1933. Refurbishment was carried out in the 1970s and two annexes were built in the shape of an L that favoured the creation of a paved interior courtyard. The bookshop-café would be located in these annexes.

What are the constructional intentions? The use of the exterior openings to create a light and relaxing atmosphere that favours the transition between the inside and the outside. Also, to achieve greater breadth of space by pulling down partition walls and supporting load-bearing walls, which will create new openings. The exterior façades will also be refurbished to mark the new route and the new zoning.

To sum up, the Bonavista bookshop-café is governed by these concepts: intimacy, light, leisure and relaxation.
