Silvia P. Morés - Asian Wave

Asian Wave

Asian Wave was conceived as a popular Asian music festival, held for the first time in Barcelona, where for four days in August artists from a range of musical styles from far-east Asian countries will be performing at three of the city's venues. The festival is aimed primarily at audiences aged between 15 and 35, for fans of these artists who are unable to go and see them perform in their country of origin and people who do not know them, but who are curious to know more about them. The aim is to introduce popular Asian music to Europe and offer the chance to see live performances by established and emerging artists from the cultural scene in different countries.

I therefore had to create a communication graphic for an event which evoked its Asian roots, but aimed at a western audience without falling into stereotypes and finding a balance between the range of styles represented and the type of audience. The visual language uses two resources that can be combined. Firstly, black and white images of waves superimposed on a white background that convey movement, youth and variety, used to capture public opinion, and the second, a line created by expanding the symbol used in the signing and merchandising.
