Oscar Guayabero

Oscar Guayabero (Oscar Martinez Puerta), born in El Raval, Barcelona, in 1968, is a designer, curator, and author specializing in design and architecture. He has curated exhibitions such as Design for Living, winner of the 2016 Barcelona City Award, and has authored several books, including Imperfect Portrait of Curro Claret, Encants de Barcelona, and Neutopías. Currently, he combines teaching sustainability and design history with consulting in communication and curatorial projects.

Additionally, Guayabero regularly gives lectures, masterclasses, and debates on design and the future at schools and events in Catalonia and beyond, complementing his extensive teaching career. He has taught and coordinated programs at various design schools and master's programs, including Escola Massana, Eina, Elisava, and the CCCB.

Beyond his academic work, he has been involved in various associative activities, such as coordinating the Fiesta del Grafismo, founding the Graphic Communication Foundation, and collaborating on initiatives for heritage conservation and design promotion in Catalonia.

This experience has also led him to serve as a jury member for various awards and grants related to design, craftsmanship, and communication, such as the Barcelona City Award, the Laus Awards, and the Delta Awards.
