"Taller Servicio 24 Horas" Article

Issue 17 of the design research journal, Taller Servicio 24 Horas, in which teachers Anna Pujadas and Tània Costa have published a joint article, is now available in the library The journal is published by the Research and Knowledge Department of the Metropolitan Autonomous University of Mexico and promoted by the Design Analysis and Prospective Research Group.

The text published is entitled Improvisación, indeterminación y aleatoriedad en el diseño [Improvisation, Indetermination and Randomness in Design] and the authors have told us a little of its content: “The processes of intervention of chance and randomness in design lead to a displacement of the role of the user, from the initial idea of receiver to the present one of interactor. However, the intervention of the user on the production of the design does not only entail a physical emergence into the process as co-author but also, and perhaps more importantly, the inoculation of a critical look, “another”, on the product conceived by the designer. Chance and randomness are used this way as critical devices that constitute the design object, both in its formal aspect and in the conceptual and content aspect.”
