Premi Ciutat Barcelona

Jordi Colomer, Ciutat de Barcelona 2024 Award

Jordi Colomer, patron of the Eina Foundation and former student of the center, has been awarded the Ciutat de Barcelona 2024 Award in the visual arts category for his exhibition Façana, foto, festa, futur, fideus, held at MACBA, Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona.

The jury, formed by Quico Peinado (president), Elvira Dyangani Ose, Marta Echaves, Laia Estruch and Alexandra Laudo, highlighted the work for rethinking the forms and limits of the exhibition, for understanding the festival and popular culture as revolutionary acts and collective resistance, and for being a visionary work that already anticipated key issues such as the right to housing and the appropriation of public space.

This year, the awards will be presented in two different ceremonies at the Saló de Cent of Barcelona City Council: on March 12 at 6:00 p.m. for the cultural categories, and on May 27 at 5:00 p.m. for the scientific categories. This evolution allows for a better differentiation of the fields and a more specific recognition of the professionals and groups that contribute to the cultural and scientific development of the city.
