Manel Esclusa, photographer and coordinator of the Postgraduate in Photography and Editorial Design, has created the image for this year’s Temporada Alta poster.
“The image is just points of light and the trace of light,” says Manel Esclusa. “I thought that it's linked to the theatre and that there should be two important elements in the staging, which are the lighting as it originally was, with candles at floor level, and then subsequently overhead lighting, with electrical light. They both illuminate a stage where there is still no star of the show.”
Although the image was taken in a theatre, it fits in very directly with Esclusa’s night-time photographs of urban spaces. “Photography is also a constant balance between light and dark.”
