Third-year Design Degree students of the mandatory "Business for Designers" course have concluded five months of intensive work by presenting their projects to a high-level jury. This course, focused on entrepreneurship, guides students in identifying a need and creating a startup to develop a product or service that addresses it.
Working in groups of 4 to 5 members, the students developed a comprehensive Business Plan covering their business model, market strategy, marketing, and other key elements to ensure the viability of their projects. On the last day of class, each group had 3 minutes to pitch their company and 5 minutes to answer the jury’s questions, following a format inspired by international events like the Mobile World Congress.
This year, the jury included prominent figures such as professional basketball player Ricky Rubio and Josep Heredia, Director of the Ricky Rubio Foundation; Clàudia Gustems, entrepreneur; and Núria Albiol, entrepreneur and former startup coordinator at Netmentora Catalunya.
