Anna Alcubierre curates the 4th Museology Conference on sustainable exhibition practices

Anna Alcubierre has been promoting the integration of sustainability principles into exhibition design and production for years. This commitment has now led her to curate the 4th Museology Conference, Ecological Perspectives on Exhibition Spaces, an event that will position Girona as a key forum for discussing the sustainable future of museums and exhibition practices. The conference will take place on Monday 13 July at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Girona.

As Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Lifelong Learning in Exhibitions. Curation and Design, Anna Alcubierre is driving this initiative, organised by the Association of Museology Professionals of Catalonia (AMC), the Catalan Institute for Cultural Heritage Research (ICRPC-CERCA), the Natural and Cultural Heritage Campus of the University of Girona and the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policies and Cooperation at the University of Girona. The programme will address issues such as the environmental impact of exhibitions, the reuse of materials and new models of sustainable production for cultural spaces.

The event will bring together professionals, researchers, students and cultural managers interested in rethinking exhibition spaces through an ecological lens and in sharing experiences and best practices in the field of sustainability. Participation is free of charge, although prior registration is required.
