PRESENTS is a new series of conversations with artists organized by einaidea, with the aim of providing access to the processes, methods, histories, and contexts that define an artist's practice both inside and outside the studio. The first of these encounters will take place next Tuesday, June 9, with Tere Recarens (Arbúcies, 1967), an artist based in Barlin and Barcelona. The talk will also serve as an introduction to the project that Tere Recarens will develop next September as part of einaidea's Ambushes program.
Tere Recarens' work incorporates drawing, words, photography, video, and installation in a constant exploration of the limits of space as a public and collective stage. Using direct, playful, and radical strategies and actions, the artist often uses her body, her life trajectory, and everyday objects to reveal new potentialities in daily life. Deeply sensitive to places and the emotions they evoke, Recarens has developed his projects in contexts as diverse as Barcelona, Bamako, Paris, Berlin, and Tehran. This last city, and the context of Iran in particular, has occupied a central place in the six works of the last decade and will also guide the artist's proposal for the Emboscades program.
