Reformation of the Horta Municipal Football Facility

The project arises out of a will to raise the quality level of the facility in questions, inasmuch as its reputation and repercussion is not in accord with its notoriety and presence in the neighbourhood.

The chosen placement brings together certain standard attributes that allow for the application of a proposal based on a sum of small factors, comprising an overall treatment in consideration of users. This can in turn be extrapolated to other facilities with similar typologies. Without seeking to express authorship or architectural ostentation, the idea is to focalize the project on the layout and use of spaces, never losing sight of the image of youth and its specific significance as the project’s backdrop. The strategy chosen differentiates the profile of users into three categories, translated into three different areas, so that the programatic part best adapted to each profile is brought together: public; players; and club staff.

The idea to uphold the basic outline and brutalist face of the facility is another of the main axes upon which decisions for this project are made, while adding credibility and meaning to the project’s possible implementation.
