The project consists of renovating an industrial warehouse in Porqueres (Pla de l’Estany) to transform it into a school offering music workshops that use the Orff methodology. This methodology is based on teaching through active participation in the music experience, through body expression, the voice, singing and the use of Orff instruments and the body as percussion. Students experience rhythm, melody, harmony, timbre, form, etc., each achieving their ultimate level of creativity, improvisation and artistic expression.
The aim of the design was to create a relationship between the different floors, by opening up a double space to develop a joint idea and distribute the different functions from this point. The zone is divided into public and private areas, isolating and conditioning the space from interior acoustic contamination and improving the functioning of the Orff Workshop.
