Life in Turó de la Rovira emerges out of an incipient need in a forgotten neighbourhood.
The neighbourhood is known as Turó de la Rovira. Thanks to the study of the concept of an obsolete building, it has been possible to rediscover a space that has slipped from the memory of the citizens of Barcelona.
A proposal has been carried out to revive the memory of the forgotten neighbourhood and link Turó de la Rovira to the city once again, by means of an interpretation centre.
The Life on Turó de la Rovira interpretation centre opts for a design based on the formal and conceptual continuity of the subject dealt with in the research project, so as to integrate the entire project into a single unit.
This continuity is achieved by means of a reconsideration of the layout, the opening up of interior separating walls, the use of similar materials throughout the entire space, and the overall exterior and interior illumination.
The final objective of the project is to support and expand a recent intervention done by the municipal government, removing vandalized information panels on Turó de la Rovira and turning the building into a combined creation, a place for culture and society, thus enlivening a space with great contextual value.
