Clua de Meià is a small town found in the Noguera district. In the decade of the 1960s it was totally abandoned. Ten years later a group of young people settled in the town, beginning a new life in community, far from the frenetic activity and chaos found in large urban centres. They rebuilt the ruinous town, searching for a different lifestyle based on self-sufficiency and the full expression of freedom. This project seeks to tell the true story of the town of Clua de Meià and its surroundings by means of a photographic album, which will also include the emotions and feelings of the townspeople.
The town of Clua has nothing to do with habitual environments known to most of us, as it breathes an atmosphere of isolation, decadence and roughness. The lifestyle of the inhabitants is peculiar both for their personalities and for the way they relate to each other. This project is thus a window into a unique world, far from our daily existence, in an ambience whose very attraction is grounded on difference.
