Home Container Compacter

This project proposes the design of a rubbish compacter to facilitate domestic recycling. The waste material to be treated includes the most common containers used daily in the home. This project involves a detailed analysis of these containers, with mechanical testing done on them to evaluate their appropriateness for compacting, and with subsequent evaluation of different alternatives in terms of materials and product mechanics. The design criteria used are principally ease of use and attention to user needs in promoting home recycling.
