This signposting system seeks to solve the problem faced by millions of Europeans who have some type of allergy or intolerance, or who are vegetarians, when they are shopping at a supermarket: having to read the lists of ingredients in detail, which means they have to invest a great deal of time when shopping.
This is why the most common lifestyles in Europe have been selected and a system of symbols created to identify them in any country.
The system has been created in high contrast black and white so that it can be adapted to ink limitations in the manufacture of packaging and for optimum visibility. The symbols are both on the price labels on the supermarket aisles and on the product labelling and packaging. This way, once the product has been bought, the information can be consulted whenever necessary.
At the supermarket, there are a number of applications with information about how the system works and the different symbols, as well as a website where more information can be requested.
