The project, located in Barcelona’s Gràcia district, comprises the renovation of a building to be used as a fashion boutique-workshop. The surface area of the building includes sufficient space for the creation of a dwelling for the owners of the business.
Given the example of many restaurants that have visually opened their kitchens to the public, this project has seen the workshop opened up to clients to enable them to personalise the pieces on sale and foster contact between designers and clients.
Following the commercial tradition of living and working in the same place, it was decided to build the dwelling for the owners of the workshop on the upper floor of the building. One of the aims of the project was observed in order to create this apartment: visual communication. Although the dwelling divided due to the different modifications made to the structure, it is a continuous space in terms of colour, texture and light. A space without superfluous elements has been created, using white as the base colour and wood as the essential material.
