Cultivate

The aim of the project is to create the graphic identity for a new free culture festival in Barcelona. Free culture sees culture, in all its fields, as knowledge rather than a commodity, based on the principle of the freedom to distribute and/or change works, projects and creatives. (I should stress that free culture is not the same as robbery, it does not mean that it necessarily has to be free of charge, or that it is the preserve of IT).

The challenge consists of creating a visual identity (logo, pictograms, programme, poster, TV ad and explanatory cartoon, graphic code, etc.) to identify such a broad and abstract concept. As well as this, it must distance itself from the piracy euphemism it has been dubbed by the traditional media, but without this meaning that it loses its transgressor and vindicative nature. It must also be remembered that the festival is not aimed at any specific public, but at a broad family public. There is currently no festival of this kind that also has such an extensive target.
