So as to facilitate the active role of people with Down syndrome in society, it is necessary to be aware of their role. This project seeks to question the condescending gaze people with Down syndrome are subject to, making it better understood how their difference need not lead to their being underappreciated or distanced from the rest of society.
From their different nature values can be drawn for the rest of us. In line with this principle, the project takes a stand in favour of a more inclusive society. The goal is to accentuate the value of difference, accepting it as a legitimate right and promoting the acceptance of our shared existence, thus ruling out the ossification of difference per se.
The project formalizes the concepts of shared living between the perceived view and real-life existence of people with Down syndrome. The typographic and compositional choices reinforce this duality of gazes going along with all projects involving communication.
