Intervention in a seventeenth-century building in the historic centre of Mataró to refurbish it as a hall/auditorium for jazz concerts and as a social venue for the activities of the association promoting them.
A reference cultural infrastructure has been adapted intended for jazz concerts in the city. The building has been restored and good sound insulation and acoustics have been achieved.
The reference point of the intervention is the management of the space and the creation of differentiated areas to offer the spectator/user different ways of inter-relating there.
A public part has been planned with the interconnection of three different ambiances: the stage, the bar area and the reserved space, where a preferential action has been done using lighting and specific furniture.
The necessary spaces have been refurbished for the association's activities: restricted access areas for use as storerooms, dressing rooms, technical control room and services, and a private area has been created for the musicians.
